Upper Missouri River - White Cliffs area, MT. The Corps had left the Missouri-Yellowstone junction in late April, passed through the "Missouri Breaks," and had reached the White Cliffs area of the Upper Missouri. They marveled at the variety and abundance of wildlife, and were in awe of the rock formations along this stretch of the river. They also got their first distant view of the snowcapped Rocky Mountains.
